It includes mountains like ‘Dolomiti’ (the Marmolade is the highest
peak 3342mt), but also coasts on the Adriatic sea, with long and wide beaches
of paramount relevance for tourism both in winter (Cortina D’Ampezzo)
and summer. The Venetian Spa (Abano and Recoaro) are excellent places for the
wellness care. You can also do windsurfing, paragliding, mountain-biking (on
Garda Lake and in Peschiera del Garda), golf (Montecchia and Asiago), which
provide wonderful views. It’s also terrific the landscape of the Park
of the river Po. Venice is one of the Maritime Republics and it used to have
a thriving trading business on the Mediterranean, still today it’s a
city rich of history, art and culture, like other towns: S.Antonio di Padova,
refined villas and nobles palaces, the story of Juliet and Romeo, Verona Arena.
Typical products are: the white asparagus from Cimadolmo, Montagnara ham, Violone
rice, Lamon beans, Monte Veronese cheese, Marostica cherries. The ‘Casunzici’ are
ravioli with poppy seed and are of Austrian origins. The ‘wine road’ is
an area which provides enchanting excursions among vineyards and imposing scenery.
Among wines the most popular are Pinot Grigio and Nero.
