It shows a hilly land and it’s the only region not to be on the sea. Its landscape is made up of valleys, highlands and plains alternatively. Fundamental role is played by the rich mysticism and spirituality brought by S.Benedetto da Norcia, S.Francesco D’Assisi, Iacopone Da Todi, S.Rita Da Cascia with their convents and sanctuaries. The great art is present in churches, cathedrals, Basilica, and ancient palaces rich of paintings. It’s also famous the handicraft of ‘Deruta’ceramics.There are several folk festivals, exhibitions and theatre events .A typical dish is‘panpepato’(a spicy cake) and dishes based on truffles and game, salami and Easter pizza (cheese cake).
