It’s a mainly hilly region situated between two seas (Tyrrhenian and Ionic) and represents the point of the boot. It’s one of the most ancient regions, once called Magna Grecia, and was subjected to the influence of Greek classic culture with several archaeological discoveries and lost masterpieces (Riace Bronzes). Besides the splendid remains and its splendid sea, this region boasts rich food and wines of strong flavour. The phenomenon of tourism is strongly present, particularly scuba diving aimed at the discovery of enchanting sea wildlife and historic waters.
